Throughout his career Mr. Leaverton has represented both small and large oil and gas exploration and development companies. The primary focus of his practice is the preparation of title opinions for the drilling of oil and gas wells and the payment of production from such wells. He has also been actively involved in representing clients in the purchase and sale of producing oil and gas properties with values up to $150,000,000. Mr. Leaverton's oil and gas practice includes not only the preparation of drilling and division order title opinions and purchase and sale agreements, but also the preparation of contracts, agreements, assignments, deeds, and leases. He has represented clients in the ownership, development, and management of water resources and in environmental matters. He is also involved in representing clients before State of Texas governmental agencies such as the Railroad Commission of Texas and the General Land Office. Mr. Leaverton has appeared in court in oil and gas litigation both as representative counsel and expert witness. In addition to his oil and gas practice, Mr. Leaverton represents various clients in both commercial and residential real estate matters.

Community Involvement
Mr. Leaverton has long been involved in numerous civic and religious activities. While in Midland, Texas, where he lived for 21 years, he served on the Board of Trustees of the Midland United Way and the Palmer Drug Abuse Program. In addition, Mr. Leaverton enjoyed coordinating building projects on the homes of the poor and elderly through Midland's Christmas in April Project. He was also in the inaugural class of Leadership Midland. · As a Christian, Mr. Leaverton has served in many ministries, both in the church and in para-church organizations. He is a teacher of the Scriptures and has served as a Sunday School teacher (for adults, high schoolers, and university students) and was the Teaching Director of the Men's Community Bible Study class in Midland, Texas. He is currently the Associate Teaching Director of the Lake Travis Men's Community Bible Study. Mr. Leaverton has been an adult volunteer in many youth ministries such as Young Life, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Teen Community Bible Study. · He has also served on the Board of Trustees of both Community Bible Study, Inc. and is currently the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Community Bible Study International, Inc. · Mr. Leaverton and his wife, Vicki, founded FreeWay Ministries, Inc. which is a ministry to university students at the University of Texas and other Austin area colleges. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of FreeWay.

Mr. Leaverton was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. He has been married to the former Vicki Browder since 1974 and they have been blessed with two wonderful children, David born in 1978 and Lindsey born in 1982. David works in Washington D.C. in the Legislative Department of Health and Human Services and Lindsey is in full time ministry as a Christian singer/worship leader/songwriter.
