Alva E. Alvarez was born and raised in Pecos, Texas and has strong family ties to Southern Reeves County dating back to the 1800's. Ms. Alvarez began working at the Weinacht Law Firm, a civil litigation firm, at the age of eighteen and assisted in trial preparation and jury selection. The juries that she helped select returned some of the highest verdicts in the history of Reeves County. Alva became the youngest county attorney in the State of Texas when she was appointed Reeves County attorney at the age of 26, shortly after graduating from law school. She was later elected to a full four-year term as county attorney in 2008, a position she currently holds.
In addition to her duties as county attorney, Ms. Alvarez is permitted to engage in the private practice of law. Ms. Alvarez has also worked as a field landman in West Texas conducting title examinations and resolving curative issues for the past three years.
Her primary focus at Rash Chapman is rendering oil and gas title opinions, division orders and other oil and gas related cases.
